We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK

  • Cosmic Bowling

Why Go: The family atmosphere here is terrific! Strobes, disco balls, music and lighted lanes. It's bowling with a cosmic twist! 
Pricing: $10 for 1 hour, $15 for 2 hours, (includes shoe rental)

  • Ukrainian Egg Decoration 

Where/When: Edmonds Park and Recreation, 700 Main St, Edmonds, WA 98020 on Saturday, Apr. 2nd at 10am. Contact: 425-771-0230 or www.reczone.org
Why Go: Learn the ancient Ukrainian tradition of Easter egg decoration-Pysanky.  Using dyes and bees wax techniques, learn the symbolic meaning of colors and designs to create at least 2 eggs.

Pricing: $25 plus $10 supply fee

  • Third Place Book Children’s Staff Spring Book Talk     

Where/When: , 17171 Bothell Way NE Lake Forest Park, WA 98155 on Thursday, Mar. 31st at 7pm. Contact: 206-366-3333   
Why Go: There will be books, cookies and other refreshments, and, after the formal book talk, our staff will be available to you for any book questions or help in choosing the perfect book for the children in your life. 20% of the proceeds from this event will go to the Northwest Literacy Foundation, a nonprofit group dedicated to filling the shelves of local underfunded schools.

  • Whirlyball 

Where/When: Edmonds Whirlyball Center, 23401 Highway 99 Edmonds, WA  98026 on Saturday, Apr. 2nd at 1pm. Contact: 425-672-3322  
Why Go: Whirlyball is the kind of sport that combines basketball, bumper cars, and lacrosse all in one. Try it with your family and you’ll be laughing for hours!  Pricing: For pricing call 425-672-3322

  • Stone Gardens 

Where/When: Stone Gardens, 2839 NW Market St, Seattle, WA  98107 on Saturday, Apr. 2nd at 9am-10pm. Contact: 206-781-9828

Why Go: Are your kids climbing the walls at home? Bring them to Stone Gardens where it’s specifically designed for just that purpose.

Pricing: $16 for Adults, $11 for Youths (14 years or younger) does not include shoes or harness.
