This will be a reading and book signing by acclaimed fantasy author R.L. McSterlingthong for his latest anthology. He has written more than 173 works, and this one is a collection of his favorite scenes from each of them. The whole experience should prove to give greater insight into this man’s vast repertoire of fantasy novels.

Friday, June 3 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Lake Forest Park Commons.

Why go?

At Lake Forest Park commons there will be a three-hour knitting session, but people are free to join at any point. Each person is encouraged to bring a project to work on while they sit with friends or newfound acquaintances. Plus there will be a ball winder and swift for wool winding if anyone is interested.

Multi-Neighborhood Garage Sale

When/ Where?

Saturday, June 4 at 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at three Eastside Shoreline Neighborhoods: from 145th to 175th  and I-5 to east of 15th NE

Why go?

Three neighborhoods are working together to create one huge garage sale. There will be a wide range of cheap merchandise from the many households who have signed up to sell their belongings. Plus if you live in Ridgecrest, Briarcrest or North City feel free to join in by holding a garage sale in front of your house.

Match One Jazz Orchestra

When/ Where?

Saturday, June 4 from 7:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. in Third Place Books at Lake Forest Park.

Why go?

This should be an exciting musical performance featuring this 17-piece Big Band that was started back in 1998. The group knows more than 1,500 jazz pieces, which range from 1930s and ‘40s tunes to contemporary songs. They perform frequently in Seattle and on Saturday are coming to play in Lake Forest Park.

Farmers Market

When/ Where?

Sunday, June 5 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the lower level of the Lake Forest Park Town Centre.

Why go?

 Although this event happens every Sunday from May 8 – Oct. 9, attending it the first weekend of June will mean a first look at the new farm crops for the month. Whether rain or shine this event will have a diverse selection of booths selling all types of fresh food.
