Fun in the Sun at Richmond Beach Saltwater Park

Seventy-plus-degree weather brings neighbors and friends out to the beach during low tide

For the first time in nine months, the mercury rose above 70 degrees this past weekend, 74 on Sunday in Shoreline. The golden disc in the sky and low tide brought families, friends and neighbors out to Richmond Beach Saltwater Park on  a relaxing, slow day.

Tides are defined by the encyclopedia as  the rise and fall of sea levels caused by the combined effects of the gravitational forces exerted by the Moon and the Sun and the rotation of the Earth.

A schedule of low tides this summer can be found on the city of Shoreline's Web site here.
