Five Shoreline Neighborhoods Get Cash Back for Reducing Waste
Cleanscapes money will to go to community improvement projects
Five Shoreline neighborhoods won the second annual Cleanscapes Neighborhood Waste Reduction Rewards competition and receive $10,000 combined for community improvements.
, Westminster Triangle, Parkwood, and Meridian Park neighborhood were the collection areas with the greatest percentage reduction in garbage, recycling and food scraps and yard debris from spring 2010 to spring 2011.

Cleanscapes, which has the city contract for waste and recycling, launched a new round of the competition last Saturday offering another opportunity for neighborhoods to win.

- Elementary School Art Competition Complete! . Student submissions of waste reduction artwork have been received. Winners have been selected and will receive gift certificates in the mail.
