Friday, 3/21:
challenging the “too old” myth
Find out what's happening in Shoreline-Lake Forest Parkwith free, real-time updates from Patch.
Maybe you’ve been to a few interviews and had the feeling on the way out
your age was being silently guessed, or even discussed in whispers by employers. Fact is, your feeling is probably right. But another reality is that employers are increasingly getting the clue that Older doesn’t equal less desirable, less computer-savvy (of course we can fix that), or less physically and mentally fit. A Perrin study for AARP recently found, for instance, that worker engagement and motivation increases with age. We older workers have lots to bring to the table and are in fact a bargain to most employers.
Do join us this Friday as we share our experiences, gripes, and strategies on getting past the Age Thing. As per usual, expect the shade grown delectable coffee and delightful snacks.
