Earley Outreach Fund at Church of the Redeemer donation to Market Bucks
From 2011 to 2013, Church of the Redeemer, through the Earley Outreach Fund, has donated a total of $18,500 to the Market Bucksprogram at Third Place Commons.
Market Bucks is a food coupon program, redeemable at the Lake Forest Park Farmers Market. Various social service agencies, including the Kenmore Family Shelter (Hopelink), distribute these coupons to hungry neighbors in the Lake Forest Park and Kenmore area. In 2013, these agencies distributed a total of $9,500 in coupons.
The Church of the Redeemer contribution from the Earley Outreach Fund provided the backbone of the Market Bucks program. Because Redeemer provided ongoing funds for three years, other organizations added donations to the coupon distribution. These groups included GiveBIG (Seattle Foundation),Lake Forest Park Rotary, and Third Place Commons.
The contribution from the Earley Outreach Fund provided a firm track record of success. This track record made it easier for other organizations to step up and provide funding.
